In a heartwarming display of community support, a cycling charity in Liversedge and Huddersfield has received a substantial donation to enhance its inclusive cycling sessions. This initiative, led by Streetbikes, a local cycling charity, has been making waves since its inception in 2009, with a mission to transform lives through cycling. The recent donation of £6,800 from Esh Construction, a North of England contractor, has enabled the purchase of a four-seater bike and a tricycle, significantly expanding the charity's offerings.
Expanding Horizons for All
The donation is a game-changer for Streetbikes, allowing them to cater to a wider range of participants. Gill Greaves, the Active Travel Hub Manager and founder of Streetbikes, explains the impact: "These bikes will give more participants the opportunity to ride a bike and give a wider choice of bikes to ride. The four-wheeler will allow teams of up to four to ride together, fostering a sense of camaraderie and support."
This expansion is crucial as Streetbikes experiences a growing demand for its sessions. Greaves highlights the importance of this development: "We have an increasing number of riders coming to our track sessions, so we need to be able to offer a bigger and wider range of bikes. With the support from Esh, we have been able to meet this growing demand and keep more people riding."

Streetbikes' initiative was formed in partnership with YORhub’s YOR4Good fund as part of Esh’s social value commitments on the A638 Dewsbury to Cleckheaton Sustainable Transport Corridor scheme.
